His response was pretty vague too, it's not like he was being asked to make a new soundtrack for a new game, just to continue using the one he had already made for the game it was made for.

The albums for Chapters 2 & 3 and Chapter 7 are relatively unchanged, thankfully.īlame Danny B, for whatever reason he didn't want to license out his music a second time for the later releases of the game, so they had to make a new one for the PS4 version and beyond. I don't understand why Ridiculon thought that would be a good idea. The album songs start out very watered down and only regain the drums, guitars, backing instruments and occasionally entire riffs after the first loop. The tracks as you hear them in-game are much different, and the video you linked uses the album versions of the Chapter 1 music for whatever reason. Try giving the alt soundtrack a listen once you're up to at least there, I'd say some of the songs then are good enough to be iconic themselves.Īlso, do not judge Ridiculon's songs by how they appear on the Bandcamp album "Songs in the Key of Meat". I just want to spread awareness: Chapter 1's 2015 music is definitely a flop when it comes to matching the world theme (or if you just don't like country stuff), but it abandons the country style by Chapter 2 and gets way better around Chapter 4, Chapter 2 or 3 even if you're fine with techno.
